Lovely photograph and as a former reservoir manager I found myself trying to guess where this paddle is taking place.

There is a similar structure at San Luis Reservoir and this could be a picture taken in April during its brief full time.

The stroke rate concept is something I came to and possibly because of my experience as a cyclist.
