Wade, I tried the underhatch bungies using 1/2" PVC cut in half for attachment points. But even with the bungies very tight, it was hard to get uniform pressure to seal around the hatch and they would leak a small amount. So I have now switched to Jay's dowel under the deck with a knob/screw through the hatch, and that works great with no leak. Ward
