Underdeck hatch bungees?
Posted by Wade Bick on Jul 1, 2004
The use of underdeck bungees to hold down hatch covers seems to be popular in strip-built kayaks, but I haven't seen much about it here. If you're not familar with the technique, it involves using bungees mounted between the underside of the hatch cover and the lower interior sides of the boat. No straps or hardware can be seen from the outside.
Does anybody have experience or comments on that method for use with Chesapeake kayaks?
The following link has some construction notes: http://www.blueheronkayaks.com/kayak/index.html
Thanks, Wade...
