MC 16.5 seats

Posted by Dave on Jul 1, 2004

I built the seats from the kit but I think it would have been easier to rip out my own slats and cut them off slightly oversize to clean up the ends on a stationary belt sander. Surprisingly strong (well over 200 lbs here) and work ok with a crazy creek canoe seat. Fussy to string together though and the other alternatives would be more comfortable. For trim, one needs a way to move the seats around for different paddlers or solo paddling (I use a third set of rails, bolts, and fixed foot rests for solo stuff). We love the craft for beauty and utility and it was enjoyable to paste together. Have fun. Dave
