Did not use the wood slat seats in my daughters Mill Creek. Look cool but the minicell foam seat with adjustable back band is much more comfy. I got mine from Newfound Woodworks but they don't sell that seat any longer. Check out the seats that CLC sells. For a Mill Creek you can even look at canoe seats. The cockpit is deeper than a standard kayak so you have lots of options.

You can use a boat cushion (throwable pfd thing) and a pfd or second cushion to test the yak so you know where you want to put the seat before installing it. Note that in the 13 you do not sit all the way back against the bulkhead/coaming but sit 4 - 6 inches forward. I would test the yak for best balance then install your seat of choice so you don't end up too low in the aft end.
