HVLP, pressure pot, roller or brush - use what ya got. It does not matter.

The labels refer to boats that live in the water full time. Your kayak won't so use what ever varnish you like as long as it has good UV protection for the epoxy. The Interlux Brightsides that most use for their kayak hulls (if they choose paint) is considered topsides paint not to be immersed in water for more than a week. It will take a week easy. I have done it lots of times on my sailboat.

I like the Schooner. Nice golden color. The kid sounds like he gave you good advice.
