sounds like you got a little infection there, Kurt, the ol' otitis externa. If so, hope you're on a good topical antibiotic. If lots of pain/swelling, have a 'wick' put in the ear canal. Helps keep the canal open, and the medicine drops in contact with the tissue.

Lots of the kids on swim team use 'swimmers ear drops" post swim; it's an anhydrous acetic acid solution, sometimes with a little hydrocortisone (Vo-sol HC). That's for prevention (after this current episode). Dries the ear canal out, and acidifies the 'environment' so as to discourage bacteria and fungi....
