Jeff, I am building a sassafrass 12 from the plans in The Canoe Shop book and have built a pram dinghy using this method also. The pram was designed for conventional plywood lapstrake construction but by using a router to rebate the plank edges, they fit thgether perfectly and I could leave out all the framework to produce a very lightweight boat (32lbs).
