The local builders here in Hawaii put cloth on the fiberglass, epoxy, kevlar, and carbon fiber outrigger canoes and paddleboards. It comes out really well with clear gel coat over it. I'm sure it would work with the epoxy and varnish, but like mentioned earlier, the varnish will likely tint the fabric. The way to keep the darker wood from showing through the fabric is to paint the portion that the fabric will be overlaying white (or use a white gel coat if there isn't any paint that can be epoxied over. I plan on putting fabric on my San O 16 paddleboard when I finally get around to ordering one... Getting deployed this month and hope to order one when I get back. Good luck. Aloha, Eric
