flush hatch mold

Anybody out there used the CLC flush hatch kit? In the shop tips it says quite clearly the mold should be made at a 1" smaller radius to account for springback. Imagine my surprise as I started putting together the molds I made using the template from the CLC blueprint and found that the mold for the 16" radius foredeck is actually 16". Grrr. Okay, so should I make a new set at 15"? The deck piece I cut out definitely did "spring back" (though not all the way to flat) and I want to make sure this doesn't happen again after I have glued it to its mate. The rear hatch at 60" radius is nearly flat anyway so this one is not as critical. Thanks for your help.
