I forgot to mention...don't pack so many clothes. It's camping. You don't need to be clean all the time and most of it can be done with one or two layers (especially if you're boat camping which assumes reasonably warm weather for most people.) You can also limit toiletries and learn alternative cleaning methods. (Tongue baths come to mind, but that's another thread.) Like I said, check out the hiking/backcountry related newsgroups (Usenet) either via google groups or your favorite NNTP reader and search for posts within the last week with "Light" in the title. Bunch of good suggestions.
