That was a great post and it's good advice for the entire Sea Kayaking community. Thanks for shareing.

While I'd agree that PFD's are warm in the summer months of the year, more so in your area, we need to keep both the kayak and paddler bouyant, so it's a good idea to back up the hatch covers with flotation bags.

When your new PFD arrives swim with it and try going in the water with some depth and putting it on, under controlled conditions when you're not tired. I think you'll find it difficult.
