Woopsy-deck Thought

Cleetus and Ed.

One thing I've thought MAY have contributed to the problem. While I didn't build a Chessy - I built a Chessy type, with the butt joint at mid coaming etc. My instructions said specifically to start with 5/8" overlap at the butt joint location and work forward. This provided not only at least an inch of excess deck on each side, but about 1 and 1/2" excess off the prow. If I had started at the prow, with minimal overlap I'm sure I would have wound up too narrow at some point further back along the sheers..

Same with the rear deck.

Does CLC suggest the same approach in their instructions?

Just a thought.
