Perplexed in Vancouver

Hi all - - Just returned from a trip to Vancouver Island and after 4 days, nary a hand-built boat did I see! Lots of really nice plastic yaks and plenty of surf boards, but seemingly no builder/paddlers in a beautiful kayaking mecca. Vancouver boat builders: Next time out, where can I find ya, eh?
