Just to clarify; You are using the deck to get the correct shape for step 1, using plastic, tape or waxed paper between the coming spacers and the deck to prevent them from adhering to the deck. Right? Not just glueing the spacers together flat on a work bench. And the same concept when doing step 3. I wouldn't want someone to go and glue all the spacers and coming ring together on a flat surface and then wonder why they won't bend, or why they are splitting, cracking and delaminating if the do get them to bend while trying to attach them to the deck.
