One thing I've noticed with squeegeeing, is that the very thin and smooth epoxy coat that you get is not the best thing to take a ROS to, even with fine paper.

One expert builder I know (I won't mention his name, but if you read Wooden Boat or Chris K's books, you've seen his photo) hand sands his final, thin coat. I'm too lazy for that, so I do a quick pass with the ROS to identify high spots, shave off the high spots with a scraper, then hand sand.
