Re: paint amount and age

Some colors cover poorly. Yellow took 7 coats on my Mill Creek. The dark green rudder on my sailboat took at least 5 or 6 coats. Not much pigment in yellow or green Interlux (or most brands for that matter). For the price of the shipping I would get two qts of the green. You will need it for touch ups anyway.

I think paint is fine for a few years or more. If the can is un-opened then I would not worry about it. But I would go to West Marine and take the cans to the manager. Show him the codes and ask him to open the cans (at least one) to prove the paint is ok. If its bad you will know by looking.

The Interlux green is a great color!
