I've read the thread and most of your questions have been answered I think.

There are no deck beams as they are not needed. The shear clamps are called gunwales on the AH and are laminated AFTER the shape of the shear when viewed from above is established! This means that the arbitrary curve dictated by the usual shear clamp method is eliminated. The designer has determined that and the laminated gunwales lock it in (especially after the deck goes on). This allows a slight recurve of these lines at both ends - a far more sophisticated shape is achieved.

There is no stiching, well at least very little. You use duct tape.

Beveling panels makes them fit better on any kit.

Yes, you have to put a bevel on your gunwales. Like with the CLC designs, this sounds worse than it is. It went very well for me a rookie builder.

The AH is the best kit kayak out there by far - just as CLC suggests. If the boat fits your needs and you, build it.
