Re: reducing sciatic nerv

Lee,

Sort of like why a bucket seat is better than a bench seat of equal padding? Squishes the fat back in from the sides and back under the sit bones?

I have two blocks of minicell foam which are yet to be shaped into hip braces. Think I'll jam them in whole initially, and carve away any pressure points which become evident as I actually paddle.

Thanks for all your insight and experience on these issues.

Oh, BTW, I took your advice about the heavy duty paddle and have ordered a Bending Branches Tailwind at 42oz. It's still wood for warmth, but has a very high number of laminates in the shaft to make it stronger than any Grey Owl.

I also have a Dragonfly on order for when I know what I'm doing (yeah - like that'll ever happen!) and I want to save a pound on longer trips. I'd keep the BB on the rear deck with the paddle float just in case.

Best
