j-racks?

OK, I've had pretty good success cartopping my two 17 LTs long distance on my Toyota Corolla, but I keep thinking there's got to be a better way.

I've tried the simple bar pads - don't like 'em. Thule H2go saddles don't really fit the hard chimes very well. My own homemade rack was the best yet, but it too had shortcomings and I don't have the time to modify or rebuild.

So I'm looking at J-racks . . .

What experiences do you guys have with J-racks - either Thule or Malone? How compatable are they with hard chine hulls? I have Thule crossbars.
