drill prior to finishing

the approach i use is to pre-drill all the rigging holes prior to painting while i am still in the epoxy phase. this way i can easily dress the holes (drill, fill, redrill, prefit the screw) with epoxy so that the screw holes do not become a source of water leak into the wood. also has the advantage of if you make a mistake...it is easier to properly fix without messing up the paint job.
