Well, if they say it's compatible, it very well may be just that. However, if you're on the late side of the 8-72 hour cure process, particularly if your work area is warm, you may want to run the sander over the surface to scuff it up a it to ensure good inter-coat adhesion. This would be a good idea even if you're using the same brand of epoxy on each coat.
