I've had some luck with a squeegee - on the hull of my chesapeake, the panels are flat, so it worked great. But on the deck, it's round. Holding the edge of the squeegee parallel to the keel line of the boat allows the whole thing to make contact, but the blade will not conform to the camber of the deck when the squeegee is used perpendicular to the keel line. The squeegee I got is fairly rigid. Are you guys using more flexible squeegees? or are they rigid also.

The other thing I had a problem with was that when I do fill coats, it is hard to keep the squeegee from making lines all over the place. Any tips on better squeegee usage?

My ches double is near complete now, but thinking back on the process, I wonder how i might have had better luck with the squeegee.
