Welcome to the forum!  For better or worse, nobody here is going to advise you to save a "plastic" hull.  You might do better to ask a more diverse group of boat builders.  We're wooden boat people (a rare and impractical group)

Actually, a lot of us can see beauty in a well-designed boat, regardless of the material. And, as point of fact, a lot of the boats on this website can be classified as plastic hulls with a wood core and wooden fittings. Some folks may also be surprised at the number and size of plastic boats owned by the people who make their livings at CLC. So we're not all wooden boat snobs (sorry Hooper, no offense intended).

It would help a lot if you could post some pics. Then we'd know a bit better what you're up against.

Hmmm...that is mighty curious.  If you click on the "Builders' Forum" in the banner at the top of the home page, you get to here:

     https://www.clcboats.com/forum/clcforum/

...where there are no instructions regarding photos.  However, if you open any message thread and look just above the most recent post, you'll find hypertext links labeled "Forum Guidelines" and "Builders' Forum".  The former will pop up just what it says.  The later will take you to a slightly different view of the forum at a different place in the directory tree:

     https://www.clcboats.com/forum/

...which is unexpected.  Anyway, on that page we find, amidst some other stuff above the message thread list, hypertext labeled "Click here for help on including photos in your forum posts." which has a link to the instructions to take you here:

...as noted above.
