Small Boat Rigging

Chesapeake Light Craft

Join CLC CEO John C. Harris for a comprehensive 2-1/2 hour seminar on small boat rigging. Focusing on the rigging of traditional smallcraft, John will work through the various types of lug rigs, sprit rigs, gaff rigs, and onwards to jib-headed rigs in all their wondrous variety. He'll talk about rope work and hardware—and how hardware is often overused or misused. He'll demonstrate rigging solutions both cheap and costly, using examples from CLC's fleet of small craft (many of which can be rigged indoors beneath CLC's tall shop ceilings).
Small boat rigging is a big subject, worthy of a one-week class, but John will cover the big hits, and you will pick up lots of cool ideas and tricks, no matter what sort of rig you're fitting on your small sailboat.
Boatshop Saturdays are held in our well-equipped air-conditioned classroom and workshop here in Annapolis.
