Spring is in the air and we're thinking of fun on the water. Our crew is already registered for a couple of great paddling events in June -- and you can join us!

First up, for those who'll be in the greater Annapolis area the first weekend of June, is the Bay Bridge Paddle, open to stand-up paddleboarders, kayakers, and other paddle craft. This event on Saturday, June 2, welcomes participants of all ages and levels of expertise to the beach at Sandy Point State Park near Annapolis, at the foot of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.

Nicky in actionCLC's own Andrew McLean and Nicky Stimpson will be racing in the Men's and Women's (respectively) Elite 9-Mile Race across the Bay on 14-foot Kaholo SUPs. This event is intended for racers with high levels of fitness and experience, but those with less experience or conditioning are welcome to join the 5K Paddle or 1.5K recreation course closer to shore. There are separate divisions for SUPs and kayaks, both single and tandem, on each of the courses. And there are even some nice cash prizes! Bring your own Kaholo or kayak, or just come to the park to root for Team CLC.

Nicky Stimpson rowing Oxford Shell IIThe following weekend, we'll be heading north to Cape Cod, for the Provincetown Coastal Regatta on Saturday, June 9. Nicky will be rowing the Women's Open 8K with the brand-new Oxford Shell II. This regatta offers starts for SUPs, rowers, kayakers, and swimmers, and includes a mini-triathlon as well as rowing and SUP/kayak races of varying lengths.
