Designed to work with Trailex Trailers, Bearing Buddy trailer hubs seal out water and dirt, preventing corrosion and premature wear of boat trailer axle and wheel hub components. Sealing out dirt and water allows your trailer to be submerged past the hubs without fear of rust or corrosion, making launching and loading boats a more worry-free process. Bearing Buddy hubs work by filling the axle hub with grease until an internal piston is pressed outward about 1/8 inch. The piston is spring loaded and exerts 3 psi on the grease, thus creating a slight pressure between the inside of the hub and the outside environment. This internal pressure prevents water from entering the bearings upon submersion eliminating corrosion.
The lubricant level (and pressure) can easily checked by pressing on the edge of the piston. If you can rock or move the piston, the hub is properly filled. Grease can be easily added to the accessible grease fitting located in the center of the piston. Bearing Buddies have an automatic pressure relief feature to prevent over-filling and over pressurization.This feature prevents damage and possible rupture to the inner seals. The internal parts are made stainless steel and the outer barrel is triple chrome plated steel. Sold in pairs.
