The TillerClutch is an innovative sailboat steering accessory that lets you lash your tiller with the simple click of a lever for moments of hands-free steering. Intuitive and easy to use, this compact device fits neatly and safely under the tiller, offering instant steering adjustments and optimized tiller-holding power.
With the TillerClutch, you have an “extra hand” to hold the tiller while you are trimming or reefing sails, tacking, anchoring, docking, or retrieving food or gear. It is designed to work on any size sailboat with a wooden or aluminum tiller.
The TillerClutch should be mounted forward on the underside of the tiller. To keep the control line out of the way, it can be run aft to fairleads and then forward to cleats along the coamings (see diagram in the gallery).
