wood duck modifications 1

So, for someone who will likley never use a skirt, is combing needed?  I am assuming I might reinforce the opening below the surface with a layer or two and find a way to hide/protect the plywood edge, But I think I would really prefer a look that is closer to a block of wood that has been carved out.  Thoughts?  David

RE: wood duck modifications 1

I use the WD12 coaming as a gripping point for wet re-entries. It's also very useful for a grip when loading and unloading the boat from my truck. It also anchors the cover, as well as the spray skirt. Finally, with its enormous cockpit, my WD12 is the first kayak I decided i needed a spray skirt for, for safety reasons.

That's my thoughts on the matter.
