Commercial Shipping a completed Wherry
Hi, I'm looking for recommendations/information/suggestions for commercially shipping a completed Wherry with oars and rigging. Potentially shipping from Florida to Seattle, WA. LLEW

You might also try posting on Row2K. I'm not sure if a rowing club transporter can handle the AW but it's worth a shot. Probably the cheapest and safest way to ship if you can find someone with similar starting and ending points.

Ouch...destroyed or broken-in-half. I'll try posting on Row2k. Thanks.

I know of someone here in Seattle that had a Skerry shipped to him from the east coast. It was wrapped in bubble wrap and plastic and it got DESTROYED. I once shipped a kayak to a customer in Las Vegas. It was in a crate made with 1/2 inch plywood. The boat got broken in half. The moral of the story is that there is no good way to ship a small wooden boat. I suggest looking into a boat moving company that puts them on trailers, or renting a car + trailer one way and driving it here.
