I'm sorry if I'm out of line asking a non-CLC related question,
I need to repair the cenetrboard and rudder on a small sailboat. I've got several large gelcoat dings, holes that expose the glass. Some I've tried to patch with gel coat repair but are too large.
My first instict is to fair w epoxy / micrballons but I want to finish with gel coat. I don't believe gel coat is compatible w epoxy???
What shouls I repair with.
Thanks for your help,
Ed

Epoxy-yes. Microballoons-no. If you have 'glass showing I would use a thickener intended for strength like West 403 fibers rather than microballoons which is intended to be easy to sand.
