I need some help. I messed up my combing (by sanding it until it is to small). Now I need to fix it. I tried to build it back up with epoxy. But I don't like the way it looks. I think I want to take off the top of the combing and start over. But I need some advice. Should I use a router and take it down to the spacer or should I just put another combing over the one I messed up. The only thing is it would be higher than it is supposed to be. I am looking for any advice. thanks

Personally, I'd just stick another on top! Make it out of 3mm or 4mm ply - the extra bit of height would be almost unnoticed. When it's secure, turn the boat upside down and run a shallow fillet of thickened epoxy around the overlap between the original and the new coaming lip - it will then blend-in nicely.
Enjoy!
