I was wondering if any folks out there regularly use composite nails/brads for fabrication work and how they compare to the more conventional steel units. I have a trusty old (and cheap) Bostich 18ga nailer which I use 316SS brads for fabrication work. This works fine but inevitably one will surface when I'm running a block plane or chiseling out a socket on a section of my work. We all know how much that sucks with a nice freshly honed edge on a tool.
I'm basically using it as a temp.clamp when joining/laminating woodwork, which is what most manufacturers recommend they be used for. Omer's look nice but at over $300 are a bit hard to justify for a casual builder. Just curious what others are using and how they like them.
Thanks, Rob
