Skerry foot braces...yay or nay?

Nearing the end of my Skerry build and have some concerns about the foot braces.  Seems like they would be in the way if sitting on the floor while sailing.  I'm thinking if they are really needed, maybe some sort of removable foot brace would be better.  Am I over thinking this?

RE: Skerry foot braces...yay or nay?

I said "nay". Mostly because I mostly sail my skerry.  I also bought the Sea-Dek nonskid flooring kit for mine, and there's enough traction w/ the flooring that I'm ok w/o braces for now.  And there's enough stuff in the bottom of the boat already when I'm sailing.  At least one person posted their solution for a removable foot brace of 2x4s that just braces agains the aft bulkhead.  search around the forum for a picture.

thanks Mummichug, I didn't realize CLC offered the Sea-dek precut. I like it, looks good, easy on the feet and body.  I'm going to leave the foot braces off.

I came up with this simple solution. The fender keeps the foot brace at a comfortable angle.

What an elegant solution, Henry! You've got the extra fender for docking.
