Installing forms on Wood Duck Hybid 12

I am building a 12 foot wood duck hybrid from a kit. I am ready to install the forms in advance of stripping the deck. I am having trouble fitting the forms at 6", 18", 30" and so on from the bow. It takes signifiant force to get the forms to sit at these marks. How precisely do the forms need to be placed at these intervals? Tips for temporarily holding the forms in place while perfecting the fit (prior to applying the hot glue)?

RE: Installing forms on Wood Duck Hybid 12

You may have tightened the copper twist ties on the hull  too tight.  Loosen them up a bit and the forms should go in easier.  Also run the copper through all the hole in the forms , they should like hair pins, very long shaped U's. Then begin to thread them through the boat hull planks alitle at a time untill ll have been started into the hull, then once they are all started , you can shove it in place and twist away.  Hope this helps, Eddie
