Does anyone think this is workable? I wonder about using brailing on the sloop main sail instead of raising with a haliard. It might allow for more convenient sail handling on setup and take down. Essentially, the boom would go vertical to the mast when the brailing line or lines are pulled.

It looks like the main has been brailed in the photo on top of this page. I wonder how well it works on the water?
