Shearwater 17 Build

I (barely) started a Shearwater 17 a long time ago. For various reasons, but mostly due to lack of interest, I am just now getting back to it.

My MAS Slower Hardener has yellowed quite a bit. I have a small test coat and test glue up curing right now. Will know tomorrow if this hardener is still any good.

Either way I'm going to get some new epoxy. If the old stuff is good I'll use it on the inside and for fillets. I will definitely use new epoxy for the outside fiberglass.

This is my 2nd build. You can see the first build here: http://www.clcboats.com/forum/clcforum/thread/7351.html

And the launch here: http://www.clcboats.com/forum/clcforum/thread/12281.html

RE: Shearwater 17 Build

My tests seemed to work out ok. I glued 2 piece of wood together with silica thickened and I did a test on a scrap piece of marine ply as well. It seems fine.

I did also just place an order for some more epoxy though.

Slowly working away. I'm at the point of doing the hatches. I have to say that hatches on the Shearwater are a real PITA compared to the CLC 16 I previously built.
