Rudder Problem - Seeking Advice

Hey guys, I just hung my rudder last weekend and there are some angles not matching up.  I think I mated these two pieces together in the wrong place, just a little bit low, so once I hook up the tiller up I'm afraid the angle isn't going to be correct and the tiller will be pointing up into the boat too much.  Does that make sense to anyone?  Any advice?  Should I start this part over with new parts?  Can I add something to counteract my bad angle at the end of the tiller?

Thanks,
Stu

RE: Rudder Problem - Seeking Advice

I am not seeing the issue. it looks like you attached the tiller to the rudder at a point in the stern side about an inch lower than called for. Not sure how that was even possible.

but given that, i dont see any reason the angles should be way off. the angle as the tiller rotates will depend on the angle of the rudder and the direction of the tiller, not the angle the tiller sits in relation to its axis.

can you provide a shot with the tiller moved to port? is there clearance?

Also, if you use the shock cord lashing, that will act as a universal joint and smooth out any misalignments.
