I'll be using fine line tape on the varnish where the paint will border the varnish.  Do you find that you need to remove the tape and apply fresh tape after the primer, before the paint?

FWIW, I intend to first put down plain blue painters tape on the varnish where the fine line will go so I can sand the inch or so of varnish that will be painted, then remove the blue tape and put down nice fresh fine line tape for the primer...make sense?
