Seeking info on John's Boats, Albany, GA

Several years ago I purchased a flat-bottom, V-bow skiff, 11'4" LOL with a builders plate : John's Boats, Albany, GA 439-8645. There was a gaff rig wooden mast and boom. Pintel fasteners for the tiller and bronze oar locks as well. The bottom was completly rotted away but sides and gunnells were in good condition. I rebuilt the boat as a low-power skiff for pond and lake fishing. At some [point I owned too many boats so I gave her to a good friend who also had too many boats and a job. So she deteriorated and I've just completed a re-build. She looks great and I plan to use "Ala" on Choctawhatchee Bay, FL.

I'd like to hear from anyone familiar with this builder and could give some background and dates. I feel the boat was built in the 50's-60's. But would like to establish a pedigee for her.

Thanks
