Mast Thwart Knee Placement On Dory

Either mast partner  knee can go on the Dory on either side but one end is longer so how they get placed will impact mast placement.

I assume this is correct:

Not this one:

Look correct?

Thanks!

Confirmed: Mast Thwart Knee Placement On Dory

FYI...David Fawley from CLC did advise that my assumed idenfication of which knee goes on port and starboard as stated on the two pictures with links above was correct.

RE: Mast Thwart Knee Placement On Dory

The dory page used to have a "dory lug addendum" with construction pictures.  It now appears to have been replaced with another link to lug contruction which was not functioning when I tried to open it.  In any event, I used the former addendum when building my dory.  Checking the boat this morning shows the long end of the knee facing the stern, that is, toward the nearest bulkhead.  That gives a slight rake to the mast.  It all works great.

JR,
....excellent...I posted some new pictures of my inner rail progress (trying to make it look like yours) in my photo journal showing the subject of my questions when we talk (the last 5 pictures)

Frank,
Good...thanks for checking.  I also have the addendum (bought it years ago) but the lighting in the black and white pictures is not good, plus the view is blocked by a clamp, so thanks for confirming!
