I started transferring my plans to plywood about a week ago. Hull was first, took me a couple tries to get it down pat. Feeling froggy, I kept going until I got to the deck. I just don't see a scenario where I am able to use half a drawing to make a one piece deck. Is there a trick to this, or do I just cut it oversize and trim to fit?

I am unfamiliar with the deck you speak of. However a couple of things come to mind when using full size half plans A. Are you sure it is a one piece deck? B. Usually I measure the plan dimensions roughly , strike a center line and transfer (trace?) layout on the board. C. Use scrap cardboard, brown paper, etc and make your own full size both halves pattern.
