You know that wonderful step when you glue the hatch double to the hatch that you spent a lot of time cleanly cutting out of the deck? You know what happens when you realize you glued the hatch doubler to the TOP of the hatch cover? Yeah...that's what I said too...

I was about to just leave it...I was starting to get used to the zig-zag in the grain of the wood behind the cockpit...until I could stand it no longer. I took (very carefully) my electric hand planer and slowly trimmed away what I could without damaging the hatch cover...finally got it down to where I could go after it with the orbital sander with 60 grit...and...phew. New doubler on the correct side, and new glass and resin on the other correct side.

Again...I probably would've been about the only one who would've noticed...until I post a picture HERE, of course!  Such a dumb screw up...but a triumph in the end. Be careful to NOT do what I did!!
