Epoxy Bubbles on WD 12

Wetting the fiberglass with epoxy went smoothly. 2 hours into the cure, little gas bubbles emerged on the surface. Lots of them. The largest were 1/8". They cured with the rest of epoxy and I was able to sand them down. I will paint the hull so it's not a concern but I'm nervous about the deck which is to be varnished.

This is my 4th CLC. Never seen anything like it before in MAS epoxy.

RE: Epoxy Bubbles on WD 12

What time of day did you wet out the fiberglass?  If you did it at a time when the temperature was rising while the epoxy was curing the wood could have out-gassed and caused the bubbles. Always apply your first coat of epoxy when you expect the temperature to be going down. Of course after the first coat the wood is sealed and it doesn't matter.
