Flush hatch a la Shearwater for Passagemaker front seat?
Ahoy! I'm building a PMD from plans. I'd like to use the front watertight compartment to hold a tent & campstove, maybe two sleeping bags. Not sure the standard 6" round flush hatch is big enough to get them in. Anyone ever tried putting a Shearwater kayak-style flush hatch on a seat? My concerns are watertight integrity and load-bearing ability (although I'd probably put the hatch far enough forward that only the dog will be sitting on it). Thanks!
