preventing epoxy adhesion

Tks for your reply, Pete.  I'm not looking to strengthen the dacron fiber but to add abrasion resistance.  In our waters unseen slightly submerged rocks can be encountered anytime.  What I want from the epoxy layer is a little more protection than paint alone can provide.  My major concern in this post, however, is how to prevent the epoxy from soaking thru the dacron cloth & adhering to the varnished & auto waxed hull underneath.  I don't want the cloth bonded to the wood hull, since the skin of the canoe needs to independent of the natural wood movement underneath it.

RE: preventing epoxy adhesion

I didn't quite understand all of that, but if you want a tough coating, consider epoxy and graphite after glassing the bottom ... as long as you don't mind black.
