I just got my kit home last Thursday, and have been studying the manual, and watching the video. As assembling the Cheasapeake 18 is going to be a one-time project. I do not want to spend a lot of money on tools.(clamps)
Has anyone used the PVC clamps to clamp the shear clamp?
What size PVC do you need to make the clamps?

My son built a kayak in wood shop class and I didnt wont to send all my clamps,so we cut some 4" pcv pipe about 1 1/2" wide.
I am know working on a Shearwater Eider double and am using the clamps on this boat also.Have not had good luck with the cheap spring clamps. They keep breaking, I have been hit a couple on time by spring when they break.
