Fit of Bottom Panel Bow to Inner Stem

When Stiching the Panels to the inner stem at the Bow (pg 38 in manual), the space between them is about a quarter inch.  Is that too much or will this all come together later?  I had a heck of a time getting the ply not to overlap as I opened the two pieces onto my sawhorses/building jig...

RE: Fit of Bottom Panel Bow to Inner Stem

I've helped build several Cocktail Class boats but haven't had a problem with their botton panels trying to overlap.  We tightened the stitch wires along the keel so they were finger snug, not plier tight.  The bottom panels opened up nicely (as we held our breath) with a small gap at the front (about 1/8") similar to that shown in the top two pictures on page 38.  Is that the gap you are talking about?  If so, it shouldn't be a big problem.  The gap will be under the 9-mm thick central frame and be filled with epoxy goop and covered with fiberglass.
