I found that the lighter burned my thub which got sore flicking my bic. If you hold a heat gun set on high on the copper wire wtiches, for 8 seconds, the stiches come out easy and fast.
Hey Great... I had a few epoxied stitches on my Wood Duck-12 and used a long "lighter", the type you would use on a stove or heater. It created a flame and the heat was confined to the copper wire. I had considered a heat gun but was worried that the heat gun would heat the surrounding fillets as well. It sounds like all went well with your project. ~BRUCE~

A small soldering iron is much safer and just as fast. -Wes
