Filling old screw holes during refinish
I plan to refinish the yak over the winter, to include removing the deck lines/bungees, filling the holes with epoxy and re-positioning most of them. My concern is that 3M sealant I squirted into each screw hole prior to attaching the lines..., is there a way to clean out the holes so the epoxy will stick? Appreciate any help; thanks, Larry

Thanks, Laszlo, I was just thinking about that. A 1/4" hole would eliminate all that 3M goo and be the perfect size for a dowel. The line on the edge of the yak is painted so the dowels would simply be sanded flush, epoxied over and re-painted to match the stripe. Appreciate the assist, Larry

Drill it out with a larger drill until you get clean sawdust.
You might also want to consider plugging the holes with dowels instead of straight epoxy. Gives a nice visual effect and comes closer to matching the mechanical properties of te wood that you drilled out.
